Witham Whiskers & Walks is run by Amelia (BSc (Hons), MSc), who is currently the only handler. Amelia has experience handling over 100 dogs of different breeds and temperaments, including puppies, elderly dogs and reactive dogs.
Amelia has a master’s degree in Clinical Animal Behaviour from the University of Lincoln. This course focused on using evidence-based approaches to tackle behaviour problems in companion animals. During this course, Amelia learned a range of topics regarding animal behaviour, including training and animal cognition research.

Previous experience
Amelia has grown up surrounded by both cats and dogs, gaining invaluable experience in managing a variety of behavioural issues both inside and outside the home. As a true animal lover, she is dedicated to caring for your pets as if they were her own, ensuring their well-being at all times.
With extensive experience working in a dog kennel environment, Amelia has cared for dogs with a diverse range of medical and behavioural needs. In addition to her dog training expertise, she has also provided essential services such as administering medications, performing health checks, and receiving training in pet first aid, all of which contribute to her comprehensive approach to animal welfare.
More recently, Amelia has expanded her skill set by training dogs at the University of Lincoln for scent detection. Working with dogs who exhibited varying levels of performance in their tasks, she applied problem-solving skills to tailor unique training techniques, helping each dog achieve their fullest potential.

Our force-free commitment

We are against the use of aversive training tools such as electric collars and prong collars, and will not take on any client who utilises these tools.
