Free meet and greet:
Witham Whiskers and Walks will visit you in in your home in order to meet you and your pet, see location of walking/feeding equipment and find out other valuable information to look after your pet.
Prior to working with your pets, consent forms will need to be completed. These can be accessed on the “Forms” tab on this website but paper copies will be provided during the meet and greet. These can be returned via email: amelia@withamwhiskersandwalks.co.uk or a photograph taken and returned via Whatsapp 07888 626883.
In order for Witham Whiskers and Walks to work with your pet, you must consent to the terms and conditions. These can be found by following this link:
If your dog has specific methods of handling when outside of the home and you would like to go on a walk during the meet and greet session to demonstrate these, please let us know before the session.
Dog walks:
Household-only dog walks
Dogs will be picked up from home for one-to-one dog walks (or with other dogs in the household) around the local area.
These are typically 30-minute or 1-hour walks, but walks of different lengths are available upon request.
We will walk at the dog’s own pace, allowing plenty of sniffs.
Dogs will be walked on-lead, unless consent for off-lead exercise has been given.
We will towel- dry dogs following walks if needed. We also bring portable showers and dog wipes to use if needed.
Group dog walks
Available to dogs who are dog-friendly (when on- and off-lead) only! All dogs must have at least 1 trial walk before joining a group to assess recall and engagement with handler. These will be charged at the full solo walk rate.
Groups will be kept small (max. 4 dogs) and dogs will be matched based upon play style. Each dog will be incorporated slowly into a group and the group dynamics will be continually monitored.
Group walks will consist of on-lead and off-lead fun, so dogs must have good recall to be part of a group walk. Group walks will also consist of some car travel. If your dog does not tolerate car travel, please let us know beforehand as we may be able to organise the walk to start from your home. Length of the group walk will be based upon “paws on the floor”, so time spent travelling will not be included in the hour.
Availability of group walks will vary based upon demand; dogs who do not respond well to a group may need to be switched to solo walks until other group candidates are available.

Drop-ins:
Pets will be given plenty of attention and play time during the session. They may also be able to take part in some fun training games, unless you would prefer them not to due to interference with other training.
Pet sitting:
Pet sitting is charged on a night basis. The typical charge for this is £50 per night and includes walks. There may be additional charges for complex households, but typically an extra one or two pets are included without a further charge. Please get in touch for a personalised quote.
The amount of time spent alone will vary based upon other commitments, however they will not be left for longer than 4 hours at a time, unless otherwise stated at the time of booking.
Please note: extra travel costs may apply for services outside of Witham St Hughs. For walks and drop-in care, a weekend and bank holiday additional charge of 50% may apply.
We can also offer feeding services for other small pets, however please be aware that we are not First Aid trained for species other than cats and dogs.
